Behind the wheel for the next chapter of the Superlux Records story is label co-founder, N-GYNN.

Behind the wheel for the next chapter of the Superlux Records story is label co-founder, N-GYNN. The sixth release on the vinyl imprint sees the UK producer return to the label with four energetic encounters designed for the club. “The Heavens” EP will see the light of day Spring 2022, and will undoubtedly be welcomed by the open arms of ravers and tastemakers alike.

The opening track “Renaissance” is driven by a warm sub heavy bass, being teased throughout by mechanical twists and turns, and light acid tinges. As the track progresses you soon find yourself immersed amongst dance floor frenzy. The A2. and title track “The Heavens” is crammed with glitchy drum work, and otherworldly textures as the title aptly explains. All of the elements are perfectly weighted, each of them leaving enough room for the next, an elastic bass continues to propel the track as trippy vocal samples flash in and out, giving this one the Superlux effect.

Taking up the first half of the B side is an intelligently arranged body of work that goes by the name of, “Alma”. An almost eight minute trip with depth and emotion, gliding through the blissful realms of house and techno. Closing the EP is “Hypno”, chunky and nostalgic breakbeat sounds reminding you exactly where the label comes from. Classy UK sounds ready to do some damage.

The explosive body of work comes hot off the heels of LVCA’s “6ix Tales” EP, which was incredibly well received. Superlux is a platform in fine form, looking to evolve further in the coming years, propelling innovative sounds to the many.

For this first release of 2024 we are delighted to welcome Levan Grdzelidze, Tbilisi-based artist and founder of the Glispy Records label. After a standout first vinyl release on the Mtkvarze imprint, he delivers his first full-length record on Chat Noir Tools.
Its been five years since Belgium's WeMe Records lovingly selected the first ever collection of Heinrich Mueller's (Drexciya/Doppleffekt) best remixes/remodels for a new generation of listeners that won't have to pay collector prices to have them on vinyl. Volume 2 of False Vacuum is now with us and still has riches to choose from. These 13 rare and hard to find tracks (3 of which make their vinyl debut) all deliver in different ways as he systematically reinvents each one. Beginning with his raw and now classic remix of Ultradyne's 'Clones', the hard-edged dance-floor friendly 'Woman's Scent' by Cisco Ferreira (The Advent), the more laidback and futuristic sounding 'Bohrium 274' by Jauzas the Shining and Victoria Lukas, the slow and mysterious and first time on vinyl 'Somehow' by Rough Days For Diamond Trade, reinventing the darkest of dance-floors on 'Rytumtraks 0002' by Albert van Abbe, the moody masterpiece and first time on vinyl 'Now We Continue' by White Car, Duplex's 'Autoslug' sounding like its been rearranged inside a black-hole, a balancing act between the light and darkness on Fasenuova 'Cachito Turulo', an insistent rise and falling workout for As One's 'Where Did He Go and Why', a tightly wound and almost meditative 'The Truth' by The Exaltics, an angular stomping march of the robots 'Longwang' by 6D22, a jumpy fidgety groove for first time on vinyl 'Forty Eight Hours' by Yan Wagner and perhaps one of his most sublime pieces is kept for last with 'So Long For A Small Storm' by Dollska.

For more than twenty years, Roel Funcken has been a cornerstone in electronic experimentation. Alongside his brother Don, this Dutch sound sculptor melted hip-hop, industrial and soundscapes under monikers like Funckarma and Shadow Huntaz. A prolific solo musician and collaborator as well, Funcken teams up with Cor Bolten to revive the Legiac project with the eight tracks of Banisteriopsis Caapi. Keys appear through a sorrowful haze in "Mimosa Hostilis", this machined mist difussing as distorted strings penetrate before a dawning of icy brightness. Modulated forms and shapes billow in the bubble and trill of "Pyschotria Viridis" before the orbiting interference and introspection of "Epicatechine." Percussion is reduced to a texture, the duo finding structure in droplets of water, the stretch of steel and a litany of field recordings. The partnership dive deep into their chosen sounds, elongating and expanding tones to find harmony in the absence and isolation that is their focus. Pieces like "Solanaceae" bristle with an understated elegance, like starlight piercing a brooding night sky, while "Banisteriopsis Caapi" finds an eerie solace in its repurposing of voice as an undulating elegy. Legiac achieve a distant intimacy with their listener, a relationship forged through complex compositions, gentle movements and subtle shifts.
Polyverse is the new debut album of the very exciting and fresh sounding Kosmogonik. Nine driving and atmospheric tracks that vibrate all the way from heavyweight techno to cosmic ambient.
DJ Dex aka Nomadico of Underground Resistance is nearly out of time. So the Replicante is here to get more life... fucker!!! Dame más vida... Qiero más vida!!! There's no time to warm up or over think it... just feel the groove, move and you'll get there. The Off World is here, not in L2 orbit hiding behind the earth. This is the funky dark place that rumbles your dancefloor. His mentor Gaff has something to say about getting more life but he needs to slow down and disappear into the bass. Always on the move, spinning over skyscrapers and rising vertically into the clouds, the Spinner Theme is thumping and sets the mood just right.
