Firing up the next heat on the prolific Partisan imprint is rising Outcast Torino affiliate, Emanuele Montalto. The “Soundboy” EP sees the innovative Italian showcase a series of animated and spaced out productions containing a certain direct energy the label associates itself with. This club room approved outing from Montalto sits comfortably on the staple outfit that Partisan has become in recent years, with Anthea continuing to build her go to label for stellar underground sounds.
Somewhere between a fever dream and dancefloor. Between the sinister rhythms of the depths and gasping for breath barely above the surface. Stilness, covered with waves of dub and slowly emerging, yet full-fledged harmonies. Mazewski's sophomore record on Warsaw's Brutaż is about something profoundly human and oh how that feature mutates! This EP is dedicated to all the people struggling with addictions and those who help them to see their inner light.Mastered and cut by Tim Xavier at Manmade MasteringDesign and cover by Aleksandra Grünholz (Studio Chaotyczne)
Boris Bunnik returns to the Fluid Electronics label after his remix for Rob Belleville. This is his first outing under the Vernon Felicity alias since 2016. Boris - better known for his work as Conforce and Versalife, steps up with four cuts joining the dots between sci-fi-infused scenarios, rapturous synthy vistas and AI-powered club dynamism, bound to have dance floors phasing in a paradox of hi-intensity wares and textures-splattered sonics tailored to maximal effect.Breaking the EP in, "Chord Memory" lets out a thunder of raucous machine gargling. Navigating a league of its own, halfway proper muscular EBM and no-frills techno from the deep, this one attacks pedal to the metal with great loads of aggro kicks, rattling snares and monster bass swells surging upon the ravers with ominous presence. Doped on laser blasts and liquid-like vintage keyboardry, "Hindsight" blazes a trail of dusty acidness across, laying it thick with FX-riddled stabs and octave-shifting pads out an oddly distorted VHS score.Flip it over and here is "Contemplation" - a synth-heavy, Chicagoan style mover, smoothly drifting into Blade Runner-esque hyperspace as bars run by. From minute first to last, VF serves up a premium skittish and playful disco chug endowed with the right dose of neon-doused, widescreen escapism to keep the brain and body organically synced. Final number "Alternate" tops it off on an even breezier note, pulling out an impeccable arsenal of crudely dressed hats, solar-powered keys and stealth sub bass moves that simply do not let loose on their raving prey until all lights have gone out for good.
Across the past decade, Dan Vicente aka Acronym has been unveiling his twist on murky, hypnotic Techno via the likes of Semantica Records, Northern Electronics, and of course, his own Stilla Ton imprint, showcasing a more esoteric and experimental approach to the genre and steadily rising to prominence as a driving force for the Swedish Techno scene. Here we see him joining the roster of Benthic followingits inaugural release back in September 2021 from Lucid Void.Title-track ‘Millennial Lowlife’ opens up the project and perfectlysets the tone with subtly unfurling atmospherics, gnarly bass stabs, and modulating synths atop a low-slung, driving rhythm. ‘Albanova’then tips the focus over to an ambient tip, merging metallic arpeggiochimes with pulsating dub swells and tension-building textures.‘Vertical Garden’ opens the flip side and leans towards a moreelectro-tinged aesthetic courtesy of squelchy acid bleeps, crunchydrums, and ethereal pads before ‘Flashing LED’ rounds out the release, once again returning to an ambient feel with cinematic strings, meandering sub-bass tones, and shuffled percussion throughout.
DISDAT returns with its 5th release, dedicated to a true pioneer that has shaped electronic music culture as we know it today, Andrew Weatherall. There is not much to say that has not already been said about the Governor, so we will just give our respects and let his music do the talking.During the final years of his journey, Andrew made an unforgettable impact on the ReSolute dancefloors with his all night long sets expanding beyond 8 hours. Really embracing the ethos of the New York underground during these visits, he left behind a gift, that we are humbly sharing with the world. For Vol. V Part 2, the NYC based label decided to invite the minimal master Ricardo Villalobos with a marathon sized remix on B-Side.
