Mella Dee for Private Parts' third outing.

It seems there is a lot that can happen in a campsite of a festival, and an EP from Mella Dee on Private Parts is one of them. Cut to, a musical exchange to take place, and Strictly Ruffneck EP to be born.

Strictly Ruffneck EP has Mella Dee exploring his deeper, wigged out and wonky side in fine detail.

Kicking things off with title track Strictly Ruffneck (Come Again) here you have a 137bpm stripped back, bass bounding electro wobbler. On the A2 ‘Just Need To’ a hip shaker of the highest order. This track wouldn’t sound out of place from the late 90’s on the legendary Playhouse records, a testament of skill and funk from Mella Dee.

5am (Your Love) takes on a different kind of bass journey, low swung with ultimate groove. Robotic vocals and percussive roll, which will cause chaos on any dance floor. Rounding up the EP with class and style we have the breaky roller of Twisted Funk.

Quote from Ryan,

Buzzing to be releasing this 4 track collection of wigged out heavyweight cuts through private parts, it’s amazing to release records on a friends label, an ep that came together very naturally and was a pleasure to curate with Ste. Big up private parts

No Moon joins the roster, delivering four sleek cuts, ranging from modern trance to bleep electro.
Qnete’s back in the building for a third X-Kalay release and it’s an anticipated return for the prominent purveyor of prog. Four diverse but coherently related tracks with pit stops in deep house and electro territory. We open proceedings with a dose of the lysergic sound that has become his trademark since debuting on the label in 2021. Evoking ritual and ceremony, ‘Going Short‘ commences with choral pads that beckon to the altar. A slo-mo exercise in dancefloor hypnosis with trace echoes of bleep.Where ‘Wrapped’ takes a turn toward mellow, ‘Stepperals’, like its A1 counterpart, recalibrates trance tropes into something more chugging and restrained. Another example of Qnete smudging his third eye on a tunnelling, wormhole flex. And finally, the Leipzig native signs off with a nod to the American Midwest. Opening cerebral gates in a way that recalls classic Detroit In Effect, closing track ‘Circuit Friends’ taps into the futurist utopia imagined by Detroit electro’s pioneers.
Lowless is back with a new release featuring two newcomers to the label, Italy’s OPL and Worg. The label and artists continue to immerse themselves in a deep minimalist universe with this four tracks dancefloor oriented EP.A blend of synthesis and carefully crafted atmospheric sounds will take you on a mesmerizing journey.
Obvious Transfer are back with a killer third release from QNTM CTRL. The super limited OBTRAN003 EP delves further into the wormhole, with a heady mix of dub and techno on 'Smokehouse Shift', followed by experimentations into outlandish abstract electro, in a King-Tubby-meets-Autechre trip through outer space and beyond. An unmissable, otherwordly release from the new Cultivated Electronics-born experimental collective!
The idea for Suemori's new alias arose in conversation with Osàre! Editions label boss, Elena Colombi. An inheritance from his grandfather, the name sets the tone of the album that synthesises traditional Japanese instruments into an electronic format. Dub and drone’s eerie resonance collides with staccato electro and fizzling acid on ‘Yakkosan.’ Driven by a meditative beat, flutes and choral voices glide through 'Senpai Kouhai' while ‘Hankumoi’ shudders with lucid synth. The cultural iconography of Japan emerges from this dark, textual landscape, haunted both by the ghosts of the past and spectral sound of the future.
On the back of V- Necks re issue Auto and the Lost 1990s Recordings one half of the band V Neck Mark Churcher takes time out from from his Chicago Bee project to deliver his first full length album on Emote. He teams up with the cult Brighton based experimental artist Alasdair Willis (The Vitamin B 12) who plays saxophone on 3 of the 11 tracks on the album. The album has all the hallmarks of an Emote record and more. Likely to be listed as down tempo / abstract ambient and blending many different styles together. If you are in tune with free jazz and abstract electronic tribal music you should find this good home spooky listening .
