Apparently putting out records is just as addictive as putting on parties. Naturally, we are itching for more and it’s about time that we announce our next release. It’s one that we’re particularly looking forward to as for the first time we have the pleasure of curating a various artists EP - and we believe it turns out to be one that we have plenty of reasons to be excited about!

From J.Wiltshire’s cinematic ambience to Yushh’s floating wobbles, from Pugilist’s sinister stepper to Lårry’s ghostly glitches, every artist on this EP brings their distinct style and adds to the general vibe and overall great harmony of this record
On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the 1st of a 3EP set highlighting the music on 1990's Norwegian electronic act Neural Network. In 1993-1995 they released 2 full albums or Origo Sound that featured label mates Biosphere. In 1993 they opened up for Prodigy and shared the bill with other seminal acts like AFX, Autechre, Orbital and H.I.A among other heavyweights. However, their 2 full albums 'Brain-State-In-A-Box' & 'Modernité' did not get picked up by any other label or distributer and their popularity stayed regional. In fact a 3rd album was never released (Until part 3 comes from this series!) and sadly they went their separate ways to form other electronic acts in 1997. We hope to shine a bright light on their early music. Side A features the wonderful aquatic adventure in 'Aqueous' followed by a shift into the sci-fi realm with the mysterious 'Mechanical Heart'. Two great examples that show off the group's deep post rave sound for the future. A real melding of styles. All 3 EP's have inserts where the band shares their memories of the early days. All these tracks in the series are placed on vinyl for the first time with fantastic artwork by UK's Grid Pattern. Dare to Dream! Its not only our credo at re:discovery records but it's also our goal in hearing music that was made for the stars.
After holding down a residency at Berlin’s Club der Visionaere for over a decade with their Perfumed Freedom events, dynamic duo Foehn & Jerome look to launch an exciting new record label under the same name. The Berlin based Austrian’s have teamed up for the inaugural release, wandering between tripped out minimalistic vibes with tinges of house textures spread across the record. This is “The Frisbee Of No Return”.Crisp and glitchy drum patterns lead the way in “T-Dive”, shimmering synths conversing with the distinct driving force of the track. An intricately arranged trip for the dance floor, stretching the minds of the after party throughout the almost ten minute quest, simmering elegantly yet packing a punch. The B side dives in with the curious encounter that is “Happy M’June”, leaning in to mysterious territory, evolving in to dusty house energy for the hazy hours of the night. Trippy vocal samples flashing throughout. “New Soul Interruption” sweeps directly into percussive bliss, tightly arranged drums, hypnotic as they move, layered with eccentric elements at every twist and turn.Join Foehn & Jerome as they evolve the Perfumed Freedom journey with their unrivalled chemistry, giving themselves and dedicated artists a platform to express themselves in the years to come. Their undevoted passion and artistic creativity has helped them craft a special project thus far, and that will undoubtedly continue as the label blossoms.
As Frankie Bones eloquently noted, “the five-year run of Plus 8's sub-label Probe sometimes would seem to be putting out better releases than its parent label”. One of those indelible releases was ‘The Arrival’, signed by Casey Tucker under his Variable Frequency Technician moniker. “Cross Section”, the anthem that closed the B-Side of the original 1995 release, is getting now a re-release on Certain Music with two remixes from Fit Siegel and Marc Piñol plus a proper retake from Tucker himself. It’s hard to tell what’s the most interesting feature of this singular track. Above all is a sharp and defining concoction of what listening to underground techno in the 90s was: warm and blissful chords over a metallic rhythm section, intrincate hi-hats, syrupy synths and a rubber-like bassline —you name it, the track covered it. Tucker’s 2021 remix keeps the vibe pretty much where it originally was, but now building things wider, tremendously three-dimensional and diaphanous. More than a remix, it’s a way to appreciate Tucker’s genuine evolution as an artist over the last three decades. On the flip side, Fit Siegel signs an acidic and jazzy rendition full of twists and turns: keeping the groove in check while showing an infinite array of layers and melodic ingredients. Marc Piñol does pretty much the opposite while keeping the acid intention, building a ponderous bass-driven track with vocal delays, repetitive percussions and periodic glimpses of Tucker’s exquisite synths.
The rattle of drums, scattered along the beaten track, hypnotically guiding you to a place not yet visited; yet all too familiar. Whispers and forgotten chants in surround sound luring an inner urge to surrender, to drink from Sepehr’s Diaspora Cocktail. The 5 track EP finds dwelling on Planet Euphorique for its historical 20th release, emitting a vibration of deeper dance and intriguing electronia the label is notorious for. The first sip opens your ears to the Iranian-American’s sonic sphere, rooted in live freakouts that may or may not be fuelled by his potent audio elixr, a signature special of hedonistic heat. Intoxicated by fragments of percussive EBM, tweaked out dungeon techno and sexy electro, the liquid drips and the delicious potions are stirred and shaken for your pleasure.
