Luis Malon, dropping a super groovy track with a heavy kick, bass variations, and killer melodies perfect for the dance floor. His second track brings darker vibes, break dance variations, and well-crafted bass and melodies.

For the flip side of the record, Omar (UY), who's already dropped some heat on the label, is back with two tracks. The first one hits you with some bass variations and hypnotic vocals, plus some slick drum work and background melodies. The second one is a tool track with dark sounds.

This is the fourth and final installment of Sushitech label head Yossi Amoya's reissue series focussing on the work of Eric Spire and his Silver Pearl label. The Los Angeles based producer was on a hot streak back in the late 90s, fomenting a new take on West Coast house music with hard drums and psychedelic synths that lay down something of a blueprint for later tech house a la Craig Richards, Wiggle and co. This useful 12" packs another punch with potent drums and razor sharp percussion across three cuts from some of the Silver Pearl mainstays.
Second release from Andrew Renew on his own label, made of 2 electro cuts.
2lP bundle of Helium - The Works reissue, the original as well as the unreleased mixes. Long out of press, Helium’s seminal 1993 masterpiece ’The Works’ E.P. eventually sees the light of day again on Kalahari Oyster Cult. A head-turning slab of visionary house and trance music, ’The Works’ hasn’t aged one bit and its dancefloor appeal sure hasn’t lost any of its high-impact melodic beauty. Driven by the subs-towed harmonics of the wistful ‘Out There’ and fun-loving cowbell rides meet gut-churning 909 kicks of ’Try Me’.An off-kilter ambientoid trip, B-side opener ‘Clouds’ draws closer to The KLF’s chromatic blends, whereas ‘We Are The Future’ expands the scope to further utopian apexes with its soothing assortment of nu-agey panpipes and slo, Sino-flavoured chug. Rounding off that mini-odyssey, breaksy pastoral closer ‘What Is The Human Machine’ takes us on a trip-hop-informed, acid-friendly ride in the wild.3 unreleased mixes that have nothing to envy to the originals that have been unearthed: If ’Try Me (More Mix)’ does exactly what’s written on the tin, i.e. expanding the scope to further spacious, ambient-informed horizons, ‘Clouds (Captain’s Mix)’ opts for a more abstract, ASMR-like rendition, while ‘Out There (Jody’s Mix)’ reels out as a proper hypnotic, sense-awakening comber that’ll send off dancers straight into a blissed-out daze.Helium’s classic is now back in fully remastered shape (OYSTER20.1) and supplemented by a triplet of unreleased remixes (OYSTER20.2), available both independently and as a bundle 2x12" pack (OYSTER20).OYSTER20.1https://one-eye-witness.com/release/1601909194/Helium-The-Work-E.P.OYSTER20.2https://one-eye-witness.com/release/1610123730/Helium-The-Works-E.P.-The-Unreleased-Mixes
Popshop – a kind of music which doesn't just fit in one category because it's a mix of many different styles like electro, pop, house, digital funk, techno, post wave, indie and which has always a special personal flair because of the voices, vocals and lyrics.
Altered Circuits' next release comes by way of Bologna-to-Berlin transplant Jacopo Latini. On the Motherboard EP he combines stubby drums and sultry, efficient basslines with richly hued synth work. Once the cuts get going, a tapestry of melody reveals itself: gated leads are accompanied by burbling arpeggios, momentous chord progressions and bright pads that crawl in and out. The patches often incline to the bright and dreamy but are deployed with restraint; in the same vein, concealed and aloof vocal samples get sprinkled in. These techniques - staples for the artist - add an inscrutable quality to his work's mood. It is dance music that feels direct on the surface yet hides more ambiguous emotions underneath. Being a DJ was Latini's first approach to the electronic genres, and it arguably still is his main inspiration - it even occurs he writes tracks with a specific venue in mind. Since starting over a decade ago, and having meanwhile swapped the local Italian stages for the international ones, he has amassed a ton of analogue gear to help him do so. On this occasion, he plugged in his Roland D-50, Moog Sub 37 and microKorg XL, among other favorites, to take on progressive, trance and tech house. "Motherboard", "High Voltage", "It Comes In The Morning", and "Dual Effect" make for a diverse selection but have indeed the same objective: the club floor.
