Founded by Blue Hour and Philippa Pacho, ‘positivesource’ is a new record label conceived during the pandemic and absence of nightlife. The series will bring together various artists with a focus on progressive attitudes in dance music while paying homage to our roots in early club culture.

Morphid and x(eptional signed to Lucid Recordings in quick succession back in the day, their complementary styles helping to establish the label as a purveyor of pioneering and divergent quality techno sounds. They often worked in the studio together, and now they’re gleefully doing it all over again with this perfectly pitched platter of originals and remixes from the two duos.x(eptional’s epic breakbeat techno sound always went down a storm at the original Lucid events – live and on disc – and second-hand prices prove their Lucid releases have lost none of their dancefloor appeal.Morphid’s sparse, offbeat sound was always different, otherworldly. Delightfully strange while always warm and witty – and a little bit spooky!Side 1 presents two classic originals, one by each duo: x(eptional’s a-whole-night-in-one track classic Dark Waves, a ten-minute-plus banger of epic proportions and soaring highs, followed by Morphid’s ethereal Gezouten Dessert, with its pared down bare breaks and brooding tones.Side 2 sees x(eptional and Morphid switching roles to present radical and thrilling reworkings of each other’s tracks. Morphid strip down x(eptional’s Dark Waves into a cut-up of eerie, angular funk rhythms, voices and sounds, while x(eptional extract the beats from Morphid’s Gezouten Dessert and transpose it into a whirlwind of jazz-tinged breakbeat techno that gets a grip from the get-go and just won’t let go.

Warped vision; the time spill is source of our distortia, in recognition we recalibrate. It neither predicts an age nor remembers an era, the function is the flow – not parallel but actual. The set points swim in a fever dream, a pink mist which echoes both signal and version. Detangled, decrypted, explained – it could be primal truth, except for endless reality…New message from the Mirror Zone, signals here cast by DJ Ungel who summons mystic breakbeat and shamanic acid from deep fractal wells of pan-consciousness. Charged mantras echo and gate amongst pulsating Megadog trance, whilst waves of ERP and Stinsonian electro roll into the ambient dub of Higher Intelligence Agency, Universal Egg, and other Artificial Intelligence like Banco De Gaia and Sandoz.True energy.

Pellicola represents five fundamental episodes of the artist’s childhood, expressed through introspective elegant melodies. The compositions lead us to visualize the abstract emotional landscape with nocturnal blue tones through the timbres of the Moog Sub37.This synth being the main instrument that characterizes the timbre of this mini album with a purelyelectronic sound where bpm moves between 60 and 150.The execution free of quantization allows us to fully absorb the emotion and humanity of these songs that develop over the musician's memories, making those immortal and no longer vulnerable like a burning film.

For the third VA of the Off The Grid label we have brought together the always dynamic expert DJ and producer tINI of Part of The Gang, co-owner of the elegant Berlin collective Overground Records, Rickie, GNMR, certified Italian "Dj Dynasty" owner of Dubblack Records and finally the promising hyperactive Belgian producer Session 4000. No room for melancholy this time, we dive straight into darker territories, jacking grooves, dark dub vibes and eerie hypnotic loops. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
