In 2000, Leonora Epremian collaborated with Evasive Records' founder Rob Pearson to produce a remarkable three-track EP, marking the fourth vinyl release on the label. Recorded at the renowned Online Studios in Croydon, South London, this EP captures the essence of a pivotal era in London's Tech House scene. "Remember" and "My Soul" epitomize the quintessential London Tech House sound, their polished production still capable of energizing dance floors 24 years later. The breakbeat track "Promoseus" gained significant traction, becoming a staple in many DJs' collections, notably championed by Adam Freeland in his club sets and on his acclaimed Kiss FM radio show. Due to the rarity and demand, original copies of this EP have fetched up to £150. This repress offers a unique opportunity to own a genuine piece of Tech House and Tech Breaks history, ensuring that these timeless tracks continue to resonate with new and seasoned listeners alike.
Zenwerk is an eclectic tech trancethusiast from Belarus, though based in Warsaw, Poland, where he has already established himself as a leading artist and party promoter. Ne Quid Nimis:Ne Quid Nimis is Latin for "nothing in excess" – the track is a perfectly balanced subaquatic blend of peaceful yet progressive trance and muffled bloopy sonics. Inspired by the mountains hikes, this tribal trip into the rainforest creates a drifting atmosphere of a celestial and dynamic ride meant to pass a healing power of nature alongside joyful turbulence and inspiration. Ethereal vibrations & deep sound textures create a dreamy universe of wonder and bright hopes for the future.A2 ‘Dew Kissed Silk’ is a 4x4 walk in trance delirium across predator footprints which becomes satisfactory – silk is being kissed by dew, though not soaked with. This contemporary vanguard trance/breakbeat hybrid creates a perfect mental equilibrium.Rising Bristol star JOELY brings 2 hot B side tracks which show how hot a talent he is at such a young age. Hive Mind creates a playful grit which will get a dance floor moving in the early hours of a set, providing a steady rhythm which never wavers. Jungle Walk takes us down a darker, ethereal path which will make any soundsystem wobble with the thick wonky textures that JOELY expertly weaves in. Mind this gap.
Striking a rich vein of atmospheric dance music on the latest record with Convergence founder Kosh. Chameleon biz from a producer operating right at the intersection of Midwestern and New York styles, OYSTER55 traverses lacerating electro, rugged house trax and freestyle pressure with ease.Possibly the meanest we’ve heard from the Moroccan scene flag-bearer, opener ‘Human Condition’ sets a menacing pace. But if that one batters down doors with some hurtling electro-breaks, ‘The Chopper’ opts for sleek aerodynamics and dappled, luminous hues. It’s another example of Kosh’s restless, breaks-fuelled ballistics, but this time deeper, more immersive.Back with more urgency, where ‘Come On’ recalls the baddest freestyle Latin electro, ‘The Zinger’ closes proceedings on an anthemic tip. In fact, neither would have been out of place on NYC labels like Nu Grove or Nervous Records, highlighting Kosh’s capacity for skewing classic styles to his distinct design. It’s exactly the kind of material you’d expect for a producer that first coming to prominence on Casa Voyager, where exquisitely crafted dance music has become their trademark.
Gene awakens to the lazy morning sunlight. It's the same world as yesterday, but something's different. This will be no ordinary day. When you live life on the velvet edge of tomorrow, nothing controls you, and you control nothing but yourself.
Sharing our works in progress, Balgi seamlessly integrated his skills, igniting the creation of "Beginning of the Path," our debut track on the EP. But the creative momentum didn't cease. Riding the wave, Balgi improvised, capturing those serene moments amidst the chaos, shaping "Adventure Awaits" and "Quiet Steps." As Juan (aka Balgi) prepared to depart for his train, Pau and I were still brimming with creativity and determination. In a burst of inspiration, we penned the final tune for the EP, "Landing Spot." Sending it to Juan while he was on the train, he responded with the perfect vocals, completing the EP with finesse—a perfect procedure for an interstellar landing. "Everybody, put your mask on," we added to the description, symbolizing the journey's adventurous spirit. Fueled by a profound musical connection and a shared vision, our EP has taken shape. Each track is a testament to our collective passion and the synergy between us. Join us as we embark on this sonic journey, inviting you to immerse yourself in our world of sound.
After releasing five sold out various artists EP’s featuring 25 artists, positivesource is excited to present a new chapter for the label with a diverse and anthemic EP from Berlin based producer Regent. No stranger to the label, Regent contributed to src005 last year with his smooth techno roller ‘Off Agenda’ alongside music from Neri J, Alpha Tracks, Vil & Cravo. His tracks have featured heavily in DJ sets by label founders Blue Hour and Philippa Pacho over the years, naturally the idea to present the first artist EP on positivesource with Regent comes as no surprise. The record starts on a hypnotic tip with ‘Occult’, grooving along with an infectious bass-line swung beats and blissed out atmospherics before stepping up the energy levels on ‘Khmera’, a relentless chord driven percussive anthem with nostalgic vocals rising to new heights. On the flip the title track ‘Aphid Riot’ is bold and vibrant leaning heavily into UK flavours using sliced up vocals, breakbeats and a classic ‘Reece’ bass-line. Completing the record is a ‘broken’ version of ‘Aphid Riot’ highlighting an ethereal tonal melody with a deeper and more introspective take on the original. It’s a new sound exploration from the producer, demonstrating his versatility and perhaps a rare moment in his discography.
