Nathan Melja X Flørist parodia01 one eye witness

Wonderland is a blissful sonic universe created between Nathan Melja & Flørist. Due out June 1st, 2021 on 12” and digital via Parodia, a new label launched by Nathan Melja for creative output of his own as well as likeminded artists.

Nathan Melja, known for his releases on Antinote, Mister Saturday Night and Technicolor, as well as Kalahari Oyster Cult which saw his epic track ‘Synesthesia’ that went on to be remixed by Pariah and Anthony Naples while being rinsed by the likes of Ben UFO, Evan Baggs and Jane Fitz. Always translating sound into a wide spectrum of colours, Nathan’s signature sound has evolved over the years into a precise craft.
Flørist is hot on the heels of a stretch of highly acclaimed EPs on Trilogy Tapes, Pavilion and most recently Baroque Sunburst, constantly exploring the BPM grid, he is known to leave you wondering which way is up.
Together their sensory spheres collide for a unique record which details two solo original tracks as well as two different versions of their collaborative track Wonderland, made with not only the DJ but the listener in mind.

Nathan Melja’s ‘Back and Forth’ is an updated ode to the Bleep and Bass eras, while his version of Wonderland is a colourful trip full of bright melodies. Flørist’s ‘Fade 2 Pink’ expresses the artist deeper side, exploring rhythmic boundaries. His interpretation of Wonderland hits hard with its deep and psychedelic vibrations, slipping directly into any after hours playlist.
Welcome to Wonderland.

Iro Aka are back on Hivern with the last installment of the trilogy that started back in 2020 with "El Passatge de les Ombres". The present album, "Planet Earth", which will also be released on CD, showcases a new side of the catalan duo. The seven songs share a clinical approach in sound design of both percussion and ambiances. Cuts like the opener "14.696" build up slowly while "Aquamarine", one of the singles, showcases a more euphoric side of the project. This combination of tension, spaced out beats and hypnotic cuts reflects Iro Aka's commitment to creating a cohesive and immersive work that rewards thorough listens. Another disastrous Poppers attempt at making people feel like dancing, this time featuring a promo release for DJ Tranquilos - a completely unknown "artist", never booked before DJ, virgin territory for bookers. Guaranteed to offer anything but tranquility to the listener. French vocal epic HiNRG pop cover and Soca dancefloor bulldozer on the A side. Heavy percussive acoustic drums with extraterrestrial synths and a sound effects DJ tool on the B side. Mastered for maximum dancefloor impact - only for true Peak Time DJs.
Quoth is the brainchild of Alex Egan (Utter) and Mike Smaczylo (Half Edge). Singular in focus, this newly minted (sub)label harnesses the pair’s diverse and expansive tastes in weird and hallucinatory sonics, aimed squarely at the dancefloor. We're very proud to present ‘Barney’s Maze’, a four-track EP of twisted techno, drawing influence from IDM, bass, and older strains of textural music.
Mike Parker with a second volume of his Devil's Curators series on Donato Dozzy and Neel's Spazio Disponibile imprint. Another pack of powerful and spacious techno hypnotism. Touching a wide range of tempo's and moods while staying in close touch with the original Mike Parker aesthetics.
2023 marks the tenth year of Music From Memory; a decade of groundbreaking archival releases, cross-generational collaborations and long-standing creative partnerships with our ever-expanding community of artists. To celebrate this milestone, earlier this year we asked our roster of artists to submit a piece of music for an anniversary compilation. As submissions gradually came in, we were blown away by what we received and slowly began to piece them together into what was to become “10”.Featuring work from artists who were present during the formation of the label, such as Gigi Masin, Joan Bibiloni and Michal Turtle, as well as artists like The Zenmenn, RAMZi and Dea, who have helped the label expand over subsequent years, “10” serves as a natural bookmark of where we are musically, whilst simultaneously reflecting on the label's rich musical past.In keeping with the Music From Memory ethos, the music of “10” spans both time and space, with submissions ranging from Vito Ricci's 'Da Hamptons' (1985) to Yu Su & J. Wilson's 'Mitti Atar' (2023). It crosses the globe, with a total of 10 countries represented across 17 tracks. The final result is an immersive musical compilation that flows perfectly from start to finish.Tragically, during the last few weeks of finalising MFM066, label co-owner Jamie Tiller passed away in a sudden accident. “10” was always intended to be a way to reflect on the journey of Music From Memory. The fact that it is now also one of the last releases that the team all worked on together adds a whole other level of reflection and makes it all the more special.* incl. insert liner notes by John Gómez) Artwork by Bráulio Amado.
