5 Track EP of different styles from this wicked producer. TIP!

"This pivotal release in Blawan's career is an evolution in his sound as he traverses syncopated polyrhythms, dark overtones, re-defining his discipline of auditory alchemy; openly acknowledging "Techno hasn't been inspiring me of late". Under Belly, the lead single, a chuggy disorientating dancefloor heater that will no doubt be sound-tracking the rave. Presented in XL’s iconic house bag, this release sees the mercurial producer arguably at the height of his powers and release some of his most riveting, genre-bending music to date.

Having released music for over a decade, Blawan aka Jamie Roberts is one of the UK’s most consistent producers. ‘Woke Up Right Handed’ signals a shift for the producer, one started by the pandemic, that sees him moving further away from the club and the touring DJ life of the previous ten years of his career and deeper into the studio, perfecting the sounds he’s always wanted to explore. Flexing a deep technical ability across all the tracks, the perfection of the production shines from every sound and arrangement. This is what confidence sounds like.

Going some way towards shedding the ‘techno’ box he has so often been put in, ‘Woke Up Right Handed’ makes a case for the future of music being completely fluid, further spelling the end of the ‘genre’."

Dominic Glynn together with Justin Mackay are both very respected producers out of the early underground Techno and Progressive London scene, concealed behind various alias as single artists and as a duo, releasing music for some of the most seminal labels such as Infonet and Rising High and working part-time providing BBC television's Doctor Who series with incidental music. In 1996 they started their own label No Bones, a platform based on creative freedom and quality outputs attracted rising artists, and some bigger names as well, from the cream of a global underground electronica, covering a large range of styles including breakbeat, drum & bass and future funk.
Whilst his debut release on Accessory Records (AR001) is still refreshing parts other releases cannot reach Miles Mercer is not waiting around. Back with a second EP once again full of underground rawness it’s yet another fine showing for this promising label.
Nimbus are three chaps originally from the house music epicentre of Woking, England. In the early 2000s, Oli, Jonathan and Pete carted a gigantic Dell computer between each other's houses to craft a modest but timeless back catalogue of deep and emotional tracks. Their music was featured on European labels Bitboutique and the excellent Iron Box Music at the time; of which "Entron" a particular shining example of their sound, only recently gained notoriety amongst a number of discerning DJs. For Those That Knoe is proud to present a sonic snapshot of those times the lads spent in the home counties with three previously released cuts from the aforementioned labels and one taken from their unreleased archives.
EYA returns with a four-artist VA mining the outer reaches of trance and electro from 110–140bpm.We lift off with a throbbing slow-burner from mid-90s Danish duo UFO, whose ‘Make It Light’ was previously only available on limited CD.Things accelerate on ‘Out Of Touch’, the latest in a line of shimmering dancefloor missiles from Sohrab. On the flip, DJ N4 falls fully into a trance on ‘Bio Aggregation’, with vocalizations, acid lines and organic percussion all driving us to warp speed.‘Bad Weather’ by French electro wiz Fasme completes the trip, a craftily mutating electro-meets-prog epic whose beautiful outro will see you home safely. Enjoy the ride.
