A subconscious inhale of precious tranquillity, Step No.4 hosts a rare and sentimental collaboration between Roza Terenzi and Australian virtuosic enigma jd. An intrinsic connection of friendship, understanding and mutual exchange of instinctive musical roots in the form of EP Third Nature. Divided by different continents, live recordings from a studio in Melbourne have been sent via cyberspace and sculpted into four genre expansive explorations, from new-age junkyard to devious dnb.Textural research is extensively carried out through the records A side; polyrhythms galore as hand drums collide with shimmered shakers; forming tripped out tessellations. A leftfield nod to Madonna drools below the opening track, an anchor for mind-wandering timbre and chordal bliss, glorious saxophone trickles throughout an uplifting swell of suspended melodics. Constant evolution as things progress to a downtempo subterranean soundscape, A2 dropping deeper into pulsating bass, ricochets of drum cuts flickering in and out to haze out rhythmic stagnation yet maintain a complex flow. In contrast, the B side speeds soar, firstly a dreamy, steamy progressive peak timer; playful in nature yet packing a punch. The closer showcasing a sexy sinister side, dark drum and bass where pitched gongs hover and drip, rough and ready bass growls and breaks are sliced and diced with Michelin quality.This highly anticipated pairing proves a contemporary form of analog/electric hybrid collaboration; an endless portal into groundbreakingly tweaked visions and the mergings of minds.

Legendary UK dub techno pioneers Glyn 'Bigga' Bush and Richard Whittingham aka Rockers Hi-Fi, originally formed in 1992 in Birmingham. Rockers Hi-Fi gained a cult following in the early years of dub-techno and soundsystem culture with their psychedelic, bass-heavy blend of dub, house, techno, beats and drum & bass.Rockers Hi-Fi first met when Dick was putting on nights in Brum whilst working as a carpenter, after Glyn needed work doing on his house, the pair got chatting. One thing led to another and they eventually set up a studio in Glyn's living room, where the majority of the first Rockers Hi-Fi album was recorded. Following a signing at Island Records in '93, the pair expanded to a studio above a piano store in the centre of Birmingham.A lot of these tracks presented here were influenced by musical outfits like Mo Wax, Metalheadz, Shut Up & Dance, Scientist, and King Tubby. Glyn's and Dick's music also heavily sampled 90's hip-hop, and the classic New York house sound i.e. Kenny Dope, Bobby Konders, Nervous Records & Strictly Rhythm. Not forgetting the Birmingham Diskery, a record store where the pair found plenty inspiration amongst film soundtracks, spoken word LP's and other obscure records which became part of the Rockers sound.We're pleased to present a selection of tracks from their formative years, mainly encompassing the club ready, dancefloor centred part of their discography. This reissue LP includes a mixture of sought after bangers, as well as some lesser known tracks which people may not have heard.

After the 2020 release of Old Dreams And Memories, Icelandic dub techno linchpin Yagya returns for a second release on his emergent label, Small Plastic Animals. This latest venture marks a new chapter in the artist's accomplished career, having released on Delsin, Subwax BCN and A Strangely Isolated Place as well as forming a core part of the Thule collective alongside his partner in Sanasol, Thor. As those associations ably point out, the music Yagya crafts is spacious and atmospheric, using the techno tradition as a vessel for meditative as well as emotional exploration and experimenting with sound design according to a specific, patiently cultivated style. Always Maybe Tomorrow finds Yagya ruminating on the behavioural energy of environments as viewed from afar - the man-made electricity of urban expanses and the interconnected flora and fauna of ecosystems. Looking to his chosen tools as a means to express these ideas, he employed a non-linear approach to each of the four tracks on this EP, choosing to create musical systems in constant flux rather than composing each piece in a conventional left-to-right narrative. Yagya's trademark voluminous chords and vast pads ebb and flow through filters controlled by LFOs and randomness, creating their own micro-incidents and macro evolution as though holding a mirror up to the environments the initial inspiration was drawn from.
