Matching microscopic detail and stark minimalism with a pervading warmth and open, natural flow, Tammo Hesselink shores up on Mantis.

Matching microscopic detail and stark minimalism with a pervading warmth and open, natural flow, Tammo Hesselink shores up on Mantis with four refined and distinctive techno variations. Tammo operated under a number of different guises before, debuting as The Invariants via a self-steered series in 2014 before scattering a tangled web of projects across Nous'klaer Audio. On Mantis 07 he takes a granular approach to techno, using space as a vital ingredient to expose the fine detail in each rhythmic impression and passing texture.

A core part of the Control Freak Recordings family, London based artist Keplrr has built a reputation as a deft & talented producer with unparalleled attention to detail. In the wake of the widespread support for his 2020 EP ‘Reconstructed Club’, we asked four producers we have long-admired to flip a track from the original release. The result is ‘Club Reconstructed’ - a collection of remixes which distill the spirit of Keplrr’s original record into new forms.First up, Holding Hands boss Desert Sound Colony serves up one of his signature slammers, locking Convection into a thumping four to the floor groover. Berlin-based Konduku, who has carved some of the most kinetic, angular club tracks of recent years with releases on Nous’klaer Audio, Spazio Donsible and others, provides a second interpretation of Convection, time-stretching the original material into a slow-motion panic attack. On the flip, Syz makes his return to the label after 2019’s highly acclaimed Bunzunkunzun EP, applying his organic touch to Esoteric Functions with a ‘refunction’, which blurs the line between techno and 140 - packing some serious low-end and a cheeky mid-way switch-up to send the dance wild. Rounding things off, Milan’s Piezo proves his reputation as one of the most inventive producers on the scene, repurposing Bod’s Realm into an aggy, warped & technoid ‘Doom Ragga Mix’.
Split #1 marks the debut of a new vinyl series, to be hosted on the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics. The split series will be bringing two artists on the same vinyl, with this very first release presenting music by Greek producers Fragedis and Nemmett.Coming from different backgrounds of electronic music, prolific figure of the Cretan islands' dance scene, Fragedis and one of the Athenean founding members of the "pi" crew, Nemmett, contribute their sharpest weapons to this release. On the A-side, Fragedis delivers a techno/breaks cut of dystopian melodies and vocal samples with his opening track "Flantza". His second track, "Klirish" blends industrial leaning percussions with Detroit techno flavored synths. On the flip side, Nemmett returns with his trademark industrial / breaks sound, in a hypnotic, rap vocal atmosphere with the track "Altars". His broken beat influences go more noise with his second track "Teeth", which concludes the B-side of the vinyl.
Views is in charge for the fifth chapter of Discarded Gems. The talented producer drive us into his musical scenario made of layers of progy and ethereal melodies, building up a crescendo of intensity and deepness from the beginning to the end to this EP, all well soaked of rooted bass lines and snappy drum grooves.
