Ever since the launch of The Tribe and the eponymous event series the idea of spreading records through its own outlet has been bustling.

Ever since the launch of The Tribe and the eponymous event series the idea of spreading records through its own outlet has been bustling.

The sharing of different frequencies has always been about uniting and growing together. To continue doing so by means of releasing a physical product for everyone to collect and enjoy will only enforce this convention.

For the premier release of the label Caim has realised quite the psychedelic EP which finds itself floating across the spectrum of Techno, House and Trance. All fused together, yet minimalistically approached.

From our Tribe to yours.

Originally released on Axis records. Moonlight Serenade Year 3036, the Third Empire of Human spans hundreds of star systems, only accessible by a faster-than-light spaceship. No other intelligent beings have ever been encountered, not until a light sail probe enters a human system carrying a dead alien. The probe is traced to the Ursea, an isolated star system in a thick dust cloud, and an expedition is dispatched. After a search that lasted thousands of years, humans stand on the verge of first contact with an alien race. The mission's objective: learn everything there is to know about the extraterrestrial intelligence. DJ Surgeles has a longstanding professional relationship with Detroit legend Jeff Mills. Connected through music, DJ Surgeles learned the insides and tricks of Jeff. Many conversations and meetings over the years led to this new concept, The Escape Velocity. DJ Surgeles has also collaborated exclusively with Jeff Mills on the concepts Something in The Sky and STRMRKD, and produced a special Axis Records 10 year anniversary release, The Bells: DJ Mix back in 2007. I wanna thank Jeff Mills for making this album happen.
As one half of the Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia Robbert Heynan helped define the burgeoning sound of Tribal Techno in the early 90s, the duo produced a slyly conceptual and wonderfully cohesive body of work which included, amongst others, 3 classic albums, many groundbreaking singles and a Radio 1 Peel Session. In 1992 Heynan left to pursue a solo project under the name Exquisite Corpse and continued to release an inimitable string of House and Techno tracks, his production techniques and meshing of styles resulted in a unique signature that refuses to be categorised still to this day. For WRECKS042, Klasse Wrecks is proud to present a repress of one of Robbert's most hidden records, long out of stock around the world and well under the radar is the 'Chief' EP. Originally released in 1996 on Dutch label Prime the two tracks from the original EP have been remastered and are presented alongside two brand new and unheard versions, which have been laying dormant since waiting for the right time to peer out into the daylight. The resulting record is a wonderful capsule and insight to the body of work and creativity of Robbert, at times dark and hypnotic, introspective and heady but with the crosshairs always firmly set on the dance floor.
My Idea with these series of 10” records was to do 5 in around a year to 18 months. This got scuppered by the situation at world pressing plants with the extreme wait for records. The tracks are all taken from my live set which I’ve been doing over the last few years which has taken in some huge gigs and festivals including Houghton, Dimensions, Ion and extensive club gigs too.All of them have the dance floor funk and the artwork is from long term design partner Lung. The vibe on these is rolled plasticine using a different coloured vinyl each time. So making the series quite collectable too.Lord of Dem Tings is a tribute to the late great Lee Scratch Perry and theres a nod to him on the sticker for this one.Rubber Dub is a nod to my most excellent distributor and friends at the Glasgow record and music gear shop Rubadub!!! :)
Up next on Pleasure Club we launch our new Members Only series. A place where we can present single tracks from friends old and new.On Volume 1 we have killer contributions from Voigtmann, Henry Hyde, Mariiin and HearThug. Four artists who know how to work a dancefloor, both as DJs and also producers. There is no guest list tonight.
