From Detroit he delights us with a techno dub we needed in our bag. A unique power and sexy groove infused by hip hop roots. The Detroit guy Gari Romalis is now joining Secret Society family and add his solid groove quality we’ve been looking for since our inception.Harmonic beauty is provided by Irish Derek Carr, bringing out his synthesizers full of energy and chords that characterize him in Ep after EP. Super collage of swimmers by Macarena Langlois.
For the 3rd release of Cartulis Music sub-label ALT Records they invited French old school head Chris Carrier. Spanning over 20 years of music making Chris has produced and collaborated in the release of very special music. On this one is no different under his newest moniker FSK24. The EP is filled with moods and swings of all sorts. From electro/breakbeat into more Detroit oriented sounds.
The genesis of the tracks on the Defiance LP [HOROEX38] came directly in the aftermath of the Space Echo EP by ASC for Samurai Red Seal. At the time, James made remixes of some of the tracks from this EP in an updated style for use on his last European tour. Two of these remixes make up the Defiance: Prelude release. Space Echo gets rebuilt into a more sinuous, ethereal soundscape, and Reveal is also refined into a graceful flotation device with sprinkles of air from the ether.
Dutch deep techno connaisseur Shoal steps up in Tikita. The Moroccan based imprint known for their specialist takes on deep grooving minimal techno.
De Lichting announces its first solo record “Znton EP”, by the courtesy of Boris Acket (half of Working Titles). Boris delivers a conceptual club package of six lingering yet pounding groovers, ranging from playful minimal to dreamy house and more UK to techno influenced bass music. Four out of six tracks made their way onto vinyl, while the other two will be available digital on De Lichting’s Bandcamp page. Produced in one run with just a drum computer, mono synth, sampler, tape echo and a mixer, the release comprises a solid overlapping sound, but preserves its diversity through shimmering delays, distorting ring modulations and ever haunting synth patterns.
