Poly Chain aka. Sasha Zakrevska presents a blistering set of cold, radical and introspective electro tracks.

Poly Chain aka. Sasha Zakrevska presents a blistering set of cold, radical and introspective electro tracks on one of her most entrancing records to date.

Weaving influences from a wide palette of styles across electro, IDM, techno, trance, breaks and experimental sounds, the Ukranian composer and DJ builds stories and shapes patterns seemingly from another dimension, yet clearly close to heart.

Undoubtedly a commentary on experienced hardship, strong willed hope, unjust conflict and most importantly the power of expression through music, SMART-155 is a testament to possibilities and a reminder of the importance of unity.

Poly Chain is an alias of Sasha Zakrevska - a composer, curator, DJ and graphic designer from Kyiv, Ukraine. She is currently based in Berlin due to full-scale invasion.

CROWD, a new techno label hailing from Berlin with FJAAK at the head, has just released its debut EP, paying homage to oldschool techno while infusing a contemporary twist that is sure to please listeners of both eras. Produced by the legendary Sterac aka Steve Rachmad, the EP is showcasing the versatility and timelessness of techno. The tracks are based on DAT recordings from the 90s that got carefully crafted, highlighting the pure energy and raw emotion of the genre, always leaving the listener wanting more. CROWD's first release marks the beginning of what is sure to be an exciting journey for techno enthusiasts and dancers alike. The label's ethos revolves around the people and the dancefloor, and this is also reflected in its events, which are centered around the gatherings. The event's / label's focal point is undeniably the crowd, which is regarded as the pivotal element of the night. T Dunn’s Timehri Records continues its prolific run of other-worldly sonic expression rooted in UK club music with their fourth EP to add to its ever evolving back catalogue. This time it’s the enigmatic producer Thunderkats stepping up with the ‘Wormhole Dojo’ EP. Three tracks drawing inspiration from across the club music multiverse… Choose your fighter.
The first solo excursion on Half Grand Records comes from label boss, Jon Doppler. Clocking in at 37 minutes, this collection plays more like a mini album than a 12”. The Artifact is full of the cavernous electro vibes that Doppler hinted at on the previously released compilations from the label. And if this record is an Artifact, it belongs at the bottom of the Mariana Trench with its alien percussion and deep, fluid bass. It’s hard to pick a favorite as any one of these tracks would add atmosphere and color to a set. “Sapphire” sounds like it would perfectly underscore the discovery of an ancient Atlantean civilization. While Tar Like Gold’s driving, arpeggiated basslines and vocal samples “tomorrow holds the key” look to the future. Take a listen and see for yourself, there’s a lot to love on this one.
