A new EP from Rolando Simmons is always a feast and this cracking piece of vinyl is no exception to that rule.

A new EP from Rolando Simmons is always a feast and this cracking piece of vinyl is no exception to that rule. Rolando throws it right in your face with the highly energetic Delusions, an upbeat and epic acid jam that grows deeper and deeper the more the track progresses - by the time it ends, you've probably completely forgotten where the hell you are... Classic Simmons! With Oceanic MS-20, another epic track that reminds of AFX's Analord series, Simmons goes a little darker; one for the introverted dance floors... Opening the B side is Sol, a washed out, melodic techno/acid dreamer with quirky, tambourine like hi-hats. The concluding track Earthshine is easily the craziest on the record, energetic, carnivalesque and distinctively happy/not happy; this one is set to go down well with die hard fans of the braindance genre.

Templeight is Temple’s eighth release,The first in our seventh year.It features eight tracks from artists spanning two continents. These are bent songs of glimmering confusion that rejoice in dissolution;songs to truncate the spaceBetween us all. Across the past decade, Dan Vicente aka Acronym has been unveiling his twist on murky, hypnotic Techno via the likes of Semantica Records, Northern Electronics, and of course, his own Stilla Ton imprint, showcasing a more esoteric and experimental approach to the genre and steadily rising to prominence as a driving force for the Swedish Techno scene. Here we see him joining the roster of Benthic followingits inaugural release back in September 2021 from Lucid Void.Title-track ‘Millennial Lowlife’ opens up the project and perfectlysets the tone with subtly unfurling atmospherics, gnarly bass stabs, and modulating synths atop a low-slung, driving rhythm. ‘Albanova’then tips the focus over to an ambient tip, merging metallic arpeggiochimes with pulsating dub swells and tension-building textures.‘Vertical Garden’ opens the flip side and leans towards a moreelectro-tinged aesthetic courtesy of squelchy acid bleeps, crunchydrums, and ethereal pads before ‘Flashing LED’ rounds out the release, once again returning to an ambient feel with cinematic strings, meandering sub-bass tones, and shuffled percussion throughout.
You&Me Records delivers its first offering of 2022 with their main man Josh Baker. The title track of the EP tells you everything you need to know about this release. A1 has been on rotation heavily for the last few months and has become an anthem at the Manchester based party. The rest of the EP makes up a tasteful and groovy package which caters for many a mood.
Man/ipulate starts with ‘Dimension’ a perfect gem filled with swinging rhythms, followed by ‘1st Date’, which is definitely to look forward to. On the flip-side comes ‘Watatsumi’, an absolute charm as if it were controlling the sea’s movement from calm to storm. To end things in beauty, ‘Make It Sweat’ literally speaks for itself, a powerful punchy track delivering the dragon’s message from his underwater palace.
Pyramid Of Knowledge is back on Hard Beach Entertainment, his third record for the label, humbly called... Three. This time one more step toward techno/trance territories, and with the lower tempo B2 Oedo In The Clouds to end the ceremony. The Pyramid Of Knowledge trilogy is now complete.
Jonathan Kusuma is no stranger to club music. He has played, produced and re-edited multiple works. This is what he excels at. But on Dream Bot, he wants his audience to discover a more introspective side of his. Raised in Indonesia, where rhythms are abound, be it from a folk song sung in a ceremony, a machine in a soul-crushing factory or a Boombox on the back of a bicycle, Jonathan’s ears are destined for a career absorbed in rhythm and sound. With 5 tracks of kaleidoscopic rhythms and introspective moods on Dream Bot, he is paying homage to his rich musical education and heritage. Layered percussive samples come to mind as well as the intricate interplay of gamelans and moody arpeggios. They both evoke their distinct mournful tunings. Dream Bot is a reminder of his roots and the beauty of the sounds on the Indonesian streets that have left many ears in awe.
