With the timely reissue of Megalon's highly acclaimed album 'Pandora's Box,' we are now thrilled to present the first of two archival compilations by the London-based electronic production duo. This compilation meticulously curates handpicked tracks from Megalon's 1993 collection, featuring music from their EPs released on the legendary Plink Plonk label during that year. By delving into these archival tracks, the compilation effortlessly showcases Megalon's signature blend of modern, forward-thinking, and impeccably sleek techno hybrids. Prepare yourself for a diverse range of musical moods that provide a comprehensive 360° sonic experience of Megalon's esteemed catalog, ranging from deep techno meditations to high-octane dancefloor anthems.Every track included in this compilation has been meticulously sourced from Megalon's original DAT tape archive and expertly remastered by the highly skilled Curvepusher. Furthermore, the artwork and design have been thoughtfully crafted under the watchful eye of Rogan Jeans, the original Plink Plonk Records and Megalon designer, ensuring a visually captivating experience that complements the music perfectly.
We travelled along the curvature of the earth and bent our minds asunder to get to where we are now. The passing of time has only made the lore more precious. With the gifts we have been provided, the story can finally begin.A man with drum machines, keyboards and a penchant for rawness enters. With rough takes and a distaste for convention, he emanates the sonicisms of TriForm. The forces of Earth are captivating but sometimes they conspire against you, and sometimes you lose revered recordings for abnormal reasons. From these once thought irretrievable tapes, he manifested the Refound EP.An ode to the EP’s arduous production, ‘Lost and Found’ revels in classic 90s house euphoria. Iconic bass stabs elevate and punctuate the succinctly aligned keys, causing big smiles and dancing miles. ‘909 Anodyne’ waxes and wanes, the vocoder-like synths repeating and reinventing over the mellifluous chords and the time-honoured drum machines' canonical reverberations.Flip the wax for ‘Attrakted’, a crunchy concoction with big-room tendencies. The bells are alive, and they’ve given you a thumping DJ tool that just won’t quit. Rounding things off is the aptly named ‘Younight’, lock in and get blindsided by the subtle acid, choral keys and saccharine beat. It’s emotion ‘til the very end. This is house music for every moment, made with machines and love. No AI, guy.
Vital Detroit label FIT Sound has put together its first compilation here, all with the aim of showcasing tracks from revered label artists Jared Wilson, Bizz O.D., and FIT Siegel. Wilson is now synonymous with wild acid workouts and 303 magic and he serves up more of it here on the mind-melting10 minute 'Mind Travel'. The lesser spotted veteran Bizz O.D. then brings some jack to her previously unreleased bomb 'One Two,' which was recorded in the mid-'90s but still sounds future. Last of all is the label head FIT Siegel with 'No Feedback,' a studio sampling exercise turned experimental broken beat techno workout with hypnotic effects. Here's hoping many more of these will follow.
For our 7th original release we welcome our good friend David Agrella, alongside Kompo on remix duties.David’s a producer with a fast growing reputation and a label of his own, Agrellomatica. The label’s gathered support from a number of respected DJ’s such as Jane Fitz, Laurent Garnier, Ivan Smagghe, Francesco Farfa, Enzo Siragusa, Moxie, Ciel, Massimiliano Pagliara and we’re pleased to welcome him on Seven Hills. The Kom Dansen EP is one of David’s darker EP’s, blending together thick growling basslines and atmospheric, psychedelic samples. 4 tracks made purely for the dancefloor, all driven by a phat 909 kick, this is music for late night sessions.Deseo drives through twists and turns with a grooving bass, precise funky drum patterns, and a vocal recorded by the man himself. Kom Dansen hits you with a huge belly bassline, while taking you on a trip on the night train, deep into the wormhole, with an ever building momentum.Sabotage Signals is similarly growling and deep, with spooked out synth sounds, and unsettling pad action, while Kompo’s version strips everything back, and switches up the bassline into a real wrist snapper.
